Reviews and Ratings
The hotel is conveniently located with helpful staff, ideal for exploring the city center. The rooms are cozy but have some drawbacks. The dining experience offers varied options, and the facilities are top-notch.
The hotel was away from the road and offered a good size, comfortable stay, with a fantastic breakfast. However, the rooms were small and had creaky floors, with tea or coffee stains on the walls.
My stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The rooms were quiet and comfortable, but the bathroom was a bit cramped and the shower head was not the easiest to use. The service was friendly overall, but there were some minor issues with attention to detail. The location was convenient, although noise could be a problem in certain areas. The dining experience was a bit hit or miss, but there were some delightful dishes. Overall, it was a decent stay with some room for improvement.
I stayed at this hotel in York, which we visit twice a year, and found the location excellent right in the heart of the city walls. The room was comfy but needed the heater on maximum to warm up, and the cleanliness wasn't up to usual Hilton standards. Unfortunately, the breakfast selection was poor and the rooms weren't serviced daily, so we had to request supplies at reception.
Staying at the hotel was an interesting experience. The room I had was full of character being situated in the attic of an annexe, but it also felt a bit claustrophobic, especially being the last room with no easy exit in case of emergency. The staff was helpful only after asking for management, and they provided an additional heater. The location was perfect for exploring the city center on foot, near key attractions like Minster and Shambles. However, compared to other nearby options, the pricing might not offer the best value for money.
The hotel has a charming downstairs area, but the rooms showed some wear and tear. Overall, it was spotless with nice extras. The service lacked attention to detail despite attempts to fix issues, and the pricing seemed a bit high for the quality. The location, however, was excellent for exploring York.
I stayed at this hotel, and I must say it was quite basic for the price. The rooms looked dated with no fridge, and the AC did not work properly. However, the place was clean and comfortable. The service was excellent with friendly staff, although there were some disturbances late at night. The location was good, considering it's central, but the lack of parking and expensive nearby options was a drawback. The dining experience had its ups and downs, and the facilities could have used a bit of an upgrade.
The hotel room was a bit underwhelming for a 4-star rating with some issues, but the service and location made up for it. The dining experience had some highs and lows. The facilities were sufficient but not exceptional.
The hotel has a lovely spacious room but unfortunately lacks in certain areas. The service was delightful, and the location was ideal for our needs. The dining experience was good but could use some improvement. Overall, a mixed experience with some positive highlights.
The Cloisters Suite was larger than in most hotels in this price range, with excellent beds and a comfy sofa. However, it was much too hot at night due to the lack of air conditioning and inaccessible windows. The breakfast was amazing.
The hotel room was ready early as requested, which was a huge help. Being offered parking on-site was an excellent observation by the check-in clerk, making us feel welcomed and the room spacious. However, the room was big and comfortable but really cold, even after trying to adjust the heating. The only place that had any heat was the bathroom, which was not ideal, especially on a freezing -2-degree night. Little touches like warm cookies on arrival were also missing, giving a slightly less cozy experience compared to previous stays.
